Aespira is an inhaler products company developing a series of robust and foolproof single-use inhaler products targeting major markets. The inhaler ensures that the dose is always delivered correctly and never lost, and provides audible confirmation of delivery. The initial drugs to be delivered using this inhaler device are all generic drugs, enabling rapid product approval via a simple regulatory route (bioequivalence). Aespira is managed by a team of international experts in the pulmonary and inhaler field. The company is now preparing for its first clinical trial. Aespira has a Letter of Interest from a major pharma company regarding its first planned product. Subsequent pipeline products address multi-billion dollar markets.
Provide diagnostic kit and active therapies to treat Neurodegenerative Diseases.
The company is primarily dedicated to research and development of therapies and diagnostic products for use in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) targeting beta-amyloids (AB).
The Company is developing two product lines in R&D:
1. Diagnosis of AD, with EPO patented, CE marked, kits based on the detection of beta-amyloid 40 and 42 proteins in blood. These products will be initially used in clinical trials of new therapies to monitor results, and will eventually be employed to detect early stage disease in asymptomatic individuals.
2. AD treatments based on EPO patented active immunotherapy, through a series of vaccines which have shown promising results in animal models and are starting Phase I testing in humans shortly.
Clinical trials results with the blood test kit support a link between blood levels of beta-amyloid and the development of AD: early stage diagnosis appears to be possible.
Axanton business has patented technology platform, which targets the modified, intrinsically disordered sequences of proteins-the upstream cause of diseases in aging and infection. The aging associated diseases and infection begin by the modification of the protein network. Elimination of the modified proteins keeps the tissue homeostasis. The modified proteins are eliminated by immunoboosters: the antibodies, polyclonal against the modified peptide. A-144 (used at 5 micrograms per weeks, sublingually) prevents viral/bacterial infection (also this resistant to current treatment) and stops the early symptoms of the aging associated diseases. The mechanism responsible for the beginning of these diseases is the same through the body (Parkinson’s, hypertension, cardiovascular disorder, liver, bone, and eye-aging associated degeneration). A-144 is extremely efficient and non-toxic in mice at acute toxicity studies and in human at 5 years chronic treatment (auto-evaluation). Axanton needs 3-20 M CHF for development of A-144 and other compounds on the technology platform.
Cardiogal
Cardiogal develops innovative Non-Invasive Cardiac and Hemodynamic (NICHETM) technology for advanced hemodynamic monitoring, fluid management guidance, monitoring for early development of ischemia and stress testing. Cardiogal patented technology provides 'hands-free' monitoring of well established echo Doppler indices for cardiac blood inflow, stroke volume, filling pressure and heart muscle function. Presently this important clinical information is only available using manually operated ultrasound scanners that are not suitable for continuous bed-side monitoring.
The Company successfully completed clinical trials in a leading medical centre in Israel. The study demonstrated excellent correlation between NICHETM measured parameters and standard echo measurements. Cardiogal products aim at emerging market with double digit annual growth rate and untapped two billion dollar opportunity. The Company is currently seeking fund for the completion of product files, transfer to production, obtaining regulatory clearance (FDA, CE) and initiate sale.

Everyone benefits: The patients’ quality of life is best, and society’s costs are lowest. ValveXchange® is focused on Europe for market launch. First in man feasibility testing has been completed and clinical trials leading to CE mark will be conducted in 2012. Market approval is expected in early 2013.
ViroGates is an international Medtech company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. ViroGates develops and distributes prognostic products for healthcare management with the aim of identifying risk patients early and improve the lives of seriously infected people globally.
The novel ViroGates product labelled suPARnostic®, the “Risk Status Marker”, measures a protein present in all individuals known as soluble urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor (suPAR). suPARnostic® has a unique value as biomarker: Independent of the respective condition, an elevated suPARnostic® level carries a negative prognostic value and is thus an alarm for the patients risk status.
In clinical practice suPARnostic®’s main application is screening of individuals to determine the risk of developing life style related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes type 2 etc. In critical care suPAR is primarily used in patient triaging as well as for monitoring of treatment efficacy and success. suPARnostic®’s prognostic value has been documented in various infectious conditions through clinical studies, these include sepsis, tuberculosis, malaria and HIV but also in inflammatory diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes type 2.
